Speaker: Rob Pringle, Ecology, Biodiversity, and Conservation, Princeton University The interdepartmental Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology Seminar Series has returned this term. Hear from scientists from a wide array of scientific disciplines, generate new ideas, expand your professional network, and learn what makes for effective communication of science. On Oct. 18, we will hear from Rob Pringle, Ecology, Biodiversity, and Conservation, Princeton University on the diet and diversity in large herbivores. Our goal is to generate community, particularly across departments, so we also encourage people to drop by the post-seminar happy hours!

Looking to swim, lift, or simply exercise while visiting OSU? Enjoy access to OSU’s Dixon Recreation Center Friday and through the Homecoming weekend. $10 per person for general facility use and an additional $7 for group fitness classes with advanced purchase and registration. Register for a group fitness class here (Fall registration will begin mid-September).

The exhibition How to Carry Water brings together contemporary visual artists and humanities scholars in shared observations and questions about watersheds. Guided tours of the exhibition will begin daily at 2 p.m. during normal gallery hours and 6 p.m. on performance nights.

Visit the new Corvallis Museum and the exhibit dedicated to OSU history, A College Town. This collection features artifacts from the Horner Collection and donations from OSU faculty and the local community. The Museum is open Wed – Sat., 10 am – 4:30 p.m., Sun. from 12 – 4:30 p.m. and closed on Monday and Tuesday. Admission is always free for OSU students (with OSU ID) and the museum has extended free access to families of OSU students during Homecoming weekend.
