Stirek Professor in Business

In 2021 Kate Nelson Stirek, ’83, and John A. Stirek, ’82, made a gift commitment establishing an endowed professorship to support teaching excellence in the College of Business. The holder of the position is appointed for a term of three to five years.

An OSU and Harvard Business School graduate, John is president of western operations for Trammell Crow Company, one of the nation’s leading developers and investors in real estate. He is also co-founder of Rogue Venture Partners. He has served on boards for the OSU Foundation (chair), College of Business, OSU Athletics (chair), and Believe It: The Campaign for Oregon State University (co-chair). He received the College of Business Distinguished Business Professional award (2009).

Kate has also been active as a volunteer, including serving on the design committee for the presidential residence. After she earned her psychology degree from OSU, she went on to become a criminal defense attorney. The Stireks have made significant gifts for many other areas at the university. The Stirek Gallery at the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts honors their generosity.
