Camden Professor

December 21, 2010

In 2010 Rebecca and Steve Camden made a gift of property to establish the Camden Endowed Professorship, aiming to help the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine attract and retain exceptional faculty. The gift honors the family dachshunds: Millie, Sophie, Cindy, Winky, Ziggy, Ellie, Maude, Prudy and Pretzel.

Rebecca later established a faculty scholar position in the college in addition to making gifts supporting students and programs. She honored her late husband, a 1977 OSU alumnus, by creating the endowed Steven M. Camden Memorial Scholarship in Veterinary Rehab and Sports Medicine. Her gifts for the Maude Camden Memorial Scholarship benefit veterinary medicine students with interest in shelter medicine and rescue animals.

A Stanford University economics graduate, Rebecca is a retired finance executive who held senior positions in global, publicly held companies including AT&T Wireless, Expedia and CHC Group, Ltd., an operator of helicopters serving the oil and gas industry. Since her retirement in 2015, she has devoted her time to not-for-profit board service and philanthropy. She has served many years as an OSU Foundation Trustee and on its Campaign Steering Committee in addition to her volunteer leadership roles with the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine, the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington, the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV) and the Zonta Club of Corvallis.
