This engaging panel will feature a diverse group of alumni from various health professions who will discuss their career paths, the decisions they faced and strategies they used to navigate their professional journeys.
Whether you’re uncertain about which direction to take or how to make informed decisions, this panel will offer practical advice and personal stories to help you move forward with confidence.
About the speakers:

Karli Gabica Sanchez, ’17, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a medical speech-language pathologist specializing in adult rehabilitation across San Diego County. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human development and family sciences with a focus on child development from the OSU College of Health, before completing her master’s in speech-language pathology at Saint Mary’s College. Karli currently serves in a regional role supporting multiple healthcare facilities through clinical care, mentorship and professional development for emerging SLPs. She is passionate about dysphagia management, cognitive-communication rehabilitation and strengthening clinical training pathways for future clinicians

Waranya Marcano, ’19, MPH, LSSBB, is a public health professional and systems strategist with cross-sector experience in health care administration, grant development and community health operations. She earned her bachelor’s degree in health promotion and health behavior from the OSU College of Health, followed by her Master of Public Health with a concentration in global health from Southern New Hampshire University. As grant and development coordinator at Asian Health & Service Center, Waranya co-leads initiatives that expand access to culturally specific behavioral health, cancer support and community health services. She is passionate about equipping emerging professionals to navigate their career paths with clarity while advancing health equity through systems-driven solutions.

Maureen Tremblay, ’16,, M.S., is a senior customer education manager at Teamworks, a global sports operating system that powers technology for collegiate, professional and Olympic teams. She manages education for the platform that centralizes athlete communication, wellness, performance and team management. Maureen holds three degrees from OSU, including a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science, a B.S. in Education and a graduate certificate in instructional design, as well as a master’s in athletic leadership from Clemson University. Her professional experience spans collegiate athletic administration, high school health education and coaching, and sports technology, with roles that focus on developing athletes and sports operations. A former Oregon State Track and Field and Cross Country athlete, her career has centered on strengthening the systems that support healthy, high-performing teams.

Amanda Hoertkorn, ’19, RD, CNSC, LD, currently works as an inpatient registered dietitian at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. She graduated from OSU’s College of Health in 2019 with her bachelor’s degree in nutrition with an option in dietetics and a minor in public health. In 2020, she completed her dietetic internship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA, and passed her registered dietitian exam. She has since specialized in critical care, earning her Certified Nutrition Support Clinician certification.
