About the speaker:

Elizabeth Tomasino is a professor of enology in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State. Her research focuses on flavor chemistry, sensory perception, flavor and aroma chemistry of Pinot noir and other wine grapes. Tomasino’s interests lie in wine sensory analysis and flavor chemistry, including the relationships between sensory and chemical data, particularly aroma compounds important for wine quality and regional differentiation. Currently, she is investigating the presence and concentration of chiral aroma compounds in wine using multidimensional gas chromatography. Other interests include determining global, regional and sub-regional wine styles, using sensory analysis for wine education and understanding consumer preferences and the influence of non-volatile components to wine aroma.
